| ABOUT VAGINA FESTIVAL Vagina Festival is a visual and performance art experience, organized by artist-activist, Alexandra Jacoby. It is an outgrowth of her project, vagina vérité®—an unabashed exploration of the plain, ordinary, mysterious matter of vaginas. Vagina Festival is produced entirely by volunteers. We are in the process of developing our Vagina Festival production team. Click here to meet our volunteer staff and here to learn about volunteering opportunities. It's our second year producing Vagina Festival. This year, it takes place at Sage Theater in Times Square, Manhattan on Oct. 24-26, 2008. We're very excited to expand into a 99-seat theater space to showcase artists' work about women's experiences and our challenges. For the 2007 Vagina Festival, our first, we were a part of V-Day's Worldwide Campaign to end violence against women and girls. Visual artists, performance artists, musicians, and speakers came together at Agni Gallery on the lower east side to raise awareness about the pervasiveness of violence against women, and raised money for V-Day. • Vagina Festival 2007 Press Release - Jan. 24, 2007 • Vagina Festival 2007 in The Village Voice Voice Choices We are seeking sponsors, volunteers, and accepting proposals from visual artists, performers and speakers.
