JOANNA LINDENMAN AND
DAWN COPELAND
WomanVison

Presented:
Vulvas in Action

On participating in Vagina Festival 2007:
We completely believe in the power to transform and heal the world. We know that women & men coming together to celebrate, acknowledge, and take pride in vaginas - i.e. Women's Power!! - can create change...and stir up a whole lot of juiciness!

About Joanna Lindenman and Dawn Copeland:
We are storytellers, singers, poets, priestesses, coaches, cheerleaders, weavers. We ask challenging questions, we invite you to look inside yourself to find your power, and we offer unique experiences that create excitement and openings. You will leave the room feeling much different than when you arrived.

Vulvas in Action
Join us to kick off the Vagina Festival with style! This multi-disciplined and multi-activity performance will include storytelling, singing, dreaming up new futures, audience participation and much more!

Together, we will use visualization, sound, and some thought-provoking questions to connect with our inner wisdom and see what's most important personally for each of us right now — some of us will want to focus on new relationships or career goals, while others will be working with past trauma or releasing anger. You will also experience a “community building” ritual where we will gather our energy as a group to set powerful intentions for the world and for our lives. We will get Vagina Festival started by creating enthusiasm and passion for this important work around women and girls.

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN >
At least one out of every three women around the world has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime — with the abuser usually someone known to her. Violence against women and girls is a universal problem of epidemic proportions.

reclaiming peace

V-Day's 2007 theme Reclaiming Peace seeks to make the connection between the worldwide anti-violence work of V-Day activists with our collective desire for peace and an end to armed conflicts. "We are saying that if a government supports the use of force, weapons, violence as a method of control and dominance, this models and gives license to the same kind of behavior at home," stated V-Day Founder/Artistic Director Eve Ensler.
