Performed:
Silence of Hate

On participating in Vagina Festival 2007:
I have been blessed to experience a life filled with joys and sorrows, love and indifference, strengths and weaknesses and most importantly creativity to set it all up in art. My music reflects a commitment to loving oneself as one should be loved . I have been privileged to witness expressions of hope and faith and find comfort in placing that beauty within poetry and music. My only wish is that it can touch even for just a moment a part of the love that is within us all. I am inspired by the Vagina Festival's faithfulness to spreading the message of peace and self discovery and I hope my performance can help to further this admirable cause.

About Randi Sin:
Heading from LBC of Nueve York, Randi Sin has arrived with her folk rock music that could make you ruminate, identify and maybe shed a connective tear. Ever since hearing Billy Ocean's "Get outta my dreams, Get into my car" in her parent's new maroon Cadillac, Randi knew she wanted to an 80's rock star of the Debbie Gibson kind.

Since that pre- adolescent dream, she has broadened her aspirations to include some of the greats; Sarah Mclachlan, Joni Mitchell, and Ani Difranco, to emulate in her writing style. With music constantly in her ears, on her mind and passing through her lips, it's no wonder that in 2002 she bought an 8 track and began recording her tunes in her parent's basement. Her music can transform you from that dark, closed space into a tunnel, where if you choose to look, you can find some light.

"My songs are my experiences, good and bad, raw and real- to life."

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN >
At least one out of every three women around the world has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime — with the abuser usually someone known to her. Violence against women and girls is a universal problem of epidemic proportions.

reclaiming peace

V-Day's 2007 theme Reclaiming Peace seeks to make the connection between the worldwide anti-violence work of V-Day activists with our collective desire for peace and an end to armed conflicts. "We are saying that if a government supports the use of force, weapons, violence as a method of control and dominance, this models and gives license to the same kind of behavior at home," stated V-Day Founder/Artistic Director Eve Ensler.
