EVA VISCO
Actress, THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES

On performing The Vagina Monologues:
When I saw the listing, I immediately thought it would be a worthwhile event. I was always intrigued by TVM and by the women that expressed their stories and thoughts in the monologues.   Society has made the word vagina such an awkward one that I love how TVM puts it out there. It makes you think as a vagina would!   To have been chosen to be a part of this inspiring event is exciting, enlightening and as my sons say, “Awesome!”.

About Eva Visco:
Eva Visco is a Kindergarten teacher in Bayonne, New Jersey where she lives with her family. She also taught Pre-School and Vocal Music in the public school system and privately. Eva graduated Cum Laude from New Jersey City University where she majored in Music. She later obtained her Elementary Teacher's degree.

Eva lived in the Mid-East and developed a love for its music and dance. Upon returning to the States, Eva studied belly dancing, which she soon began performing and on occasion still does. Eva started acting in grammar school and continued through high school and college. However she left it for a career in teaching, then motherhood and then back to teaching again. She continued to do some community acting and has participated in yearly recitals in her town.

This past summer, Eva decided to take her first passion, acting, to a new level. She studied at the Weist-Barron School in NYC and started auditioning. Presently, she is doing “extra” work and starring in “Gimee a Grandkid" which will be filmed in early March.

Eva is very proud to be part of the Vagina Festival and honored to be doing a monologue from TVM. Eva wishes to thank her husband, sons and mother for their love and support, all making this pursuit possible!

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN >
At least one out of every three women around the world has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime — with the abuser usually someone known to her. Violence against women and girls is a universal problem of epidemic proportions.

reclaiming peace

V-Day's 2007 theme Reclaiming Peace seeks to make the connection between the worldwide anti-violence work of V-Day activists with our collective desire for peace and an end to armed conflicts. "We are saying that if a government supports the use of force, weapons, violence as a method of control and dominance, this models and gives license to the same kind of behavior at home," stated V-Day Founder/Artistic Director Eve Ensler.
